Melisson J. — The New Public Diplomacy

Peter van Ham is Director of Global Governance Research at the
Netherlands Institute of International Relations ‘Clingendael’ in The
Hague, and Professor at the College of Europe in Bruges. He holds a
doctorate in Political Science (International Relations) from the
university of Leiden. He was Professor of West European Politics at
the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies in
Garmisch-Partenkirchen (1996–2001); a senior research fellow at the
WEU Institute for Security Studies in Paris (1993–96); and has been a
visiting scholar at Columbia University (New York), the Royal Institute
of International Affairs (London), and the Copenhagen Peace Research
Institute (COPRI). His books include: Mapping European Security after
Kosovo (2002); European Integration and the Postmodern Condition (2001);
and A Critical Approach to European Security (1999). He has published
